The story behind the idea
Even in that world, he made some interesting observations. He said 15% of one's life and business success are from the technical knowledge that you possess, and 85% come down to skill in human engineering, personality, and the ability to lead people. Your ability to express ideas, assume leadership when necessary, and arouse enthusiasm among people is the central key to success in all that you do. He conducted this massive study in I think the 1920s about what are the things of greatest importance.
What stands out
Benjamin Franklin said, I will speak ill of no man and speak all the good I know of everybody. Benjamin Franklin became a very influential and important person, and many people followed his lead. Look, any fool can criticize, condemn, and complain, and most fools do, but it takes character and self-control to be understanding and forgiving.
Why it matters
He notes in the book, everything from great philanthropists that help people all over the world, they wanted to do that and they wanted to be a part of it. All the way down to some kid joining a gang that ruins his life and other people's lives.
A faithful way forward
Give honest, sincere appreciation, be hearty in your approbation and lavish in your praise, and people will cherish your words and treasure them, and repeat them over a lifetime. From there, let's jump into our third and final idea for the day.
