The story behind the idea
Let us celebrate the grace we have in Jesus and turn that into mission orientation. God is putting people in your life all around you who are seeking for help, who have a variety of needs, spiritual needs, relationship, emotional, physical needs.
What stands out
I told you this song comes right at you, and it represents good things that we care about.
Why it matters
It directs us to Matthew 25, where Jesus says, What if in the judgment I just look at how you helped the people that I put in front of you? The sick you helped to heal, the hungry that you fed, the spiritually, and I think that's part of the point he's making there, the spiritually lost and confused that you opened yourself up to. The people I walked right into your church building on Sunday, and if you had gone there to be a producer, a servant, and a teacher, you would have seen them.
A faithful way forward
I don't see myself up on a tower better than someone else, unwilling to come down and walk in their shoes. A consumer mindset with a pronoun problem, as I sometimes have, often does not allow us to see the person that God has brought, who is asking for help, who God has led to you for that help.
Put it into practice
I know you, like me, want to see people's hearts set free from guilt, to see them healed of the pain in their life, and to see the world change for the better. Because there's somewhere around a 100% chance that God is going to use you personally in a one-on-one situation to help that happen.
