Begin with the truth

I did a sermon series a couple of years ago called Grace to Faith to Life, a three-step process that starts with grace and culminates in stronger faithfulness, that thing that we always seem to be chasing. So before we go back to how everything began, let me talk to you a bit about some projects that I'm working on.

I'm determined to write books all the way through the Old Testament showing how you can find Jesus in every single chapter, sometimes directly and oftentimes indirectly.

What this reveals about God

The second episode was One Great Hour, which already was introducing the Hal Elrod idea of the miracle morning, except we were wrapping it around God with prayer and Bible reading and daily highlights. And then the third episode, launch day episode, was by Simon Sinek, and it was called Always Speak Last.

And while we want to focus on the other episode that Simon Sinek inspired, I do think this one is worth noting, particularly how he was using it and how we can use it.

Let faith take root

Side note, I've been thinking about that this year with podcasting, also the books that I'm trying to put out. Like if the idea is to create some great book and convince you it's the greatest book out there, there are so many smarter people out there who do better work.

If the objective is to create a product that makes a lot of money, you would not make books and put them on Amazon KDP.

Respond in daily life

Mainly because I'm extremely clear on what the wrong order looks like, my life, my faithfulness, my accomplishments that I hope God buys and you buy and everybody gets value out of. You can focus entirely on that for the rest of your life, and it won't make you any more worthy, and it probably won't make you much more successful.

It is by God's grace that you were made, that you were made alive, that you're still alive, that Jesus died on a cross for you 2,000 years ago, that God sent and preserved his word for you, that God has surrounded you with help and blessings.

Think about it

Take the idea with you.
