I've never just like pre-committed to anything for that length of time outside of marriage and serving Jesus.

What to remember
One thing I've learned over the years is the best way for the program to grow is for friends to tell people how valuable it's been for them.
Let's see what we can find out, number one, about Jesus, and then also application for you and me.
This is about getting control of my life and my health for the next however many years God gives me.
Key Scriptures
Mark 15

The story behind the idea

Of course, in the end, it all does come down to that. If you're going to do something for 10 years in a row, that means 3,650 days. We all know what happens when we take it day to day. You have a bad day, and then you miss it, and the streak is over.

What stands out

I mean life-changing, incredible things can happen in your life in a period of time that in most conversations you would tell me flies by. It will, Lord willing, if we're still around a year from now, it'll be like the snap of a finger, and then the year start doing that.

Why it matters

I remember the first year I did ESM, which is just about to complete its sixth year.

A faithful way forward

I think I did approach that like let's go 30 days, but somewhere in the middle of it, I thought, no, this is not about losing 10 pounds in 30 days or whatever. This is about getting control of my life and my health for the next however many years God gives me. That will go very quickly, but I don't want them to be cycling in a downward spiral. It wasn't very long before I was saying, I'm in for a year.

Put it into practice

Let's see what we can find out, number one, about Jesus, and then also application for you and me. I mean, I've been doing that for years, but there was always these other little things that I was tossing in. I decided not to poke any bears or ask any unanswerable questions.

Think about it

Take the idea with you.

  1. 01What idea from this study most needs my attention right now?
  2. 02Where does this challenge the way I am currently thinking or living?
  3. 03What is one faithful step I can take this week?
