The story behind the idea

Somehow I thought that Jesus would understand that just like me. Part of last week's episode is we tend to shape Jesus into just like us. Nowadays, I'm just interested in balance and recognition of my leanings, and that's what today's episode is about.

What stands out

In the Sermon on the Mount, he said, Not everyone who says to me, Lord, Lord, will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father. If you are not interested in the will of God and the teachings of Jesus to conform your life to them, then you cannot be a Christian. Where those are clearly stated, unmistakably true, there can be no acceptance.

Why it matters

Jesus said in John 13, 34, by this all people will know you are my disciples if you have love for one another.

A faithful way forward

Number three, and mentioned most often, mistreating a saved person. All people we're supposed to love, but not treating Christians with the kind of respect that the Lord has given them by adding them to his body. You go, well, I don't want to stand with someone that Jesus is against.

Put it into practice

Jesus doesn't go on to say whether these people belong to him or not, or what will happen in the future, but he's warning against the judgment tendency. He goes on to say, verse 41, whoever gives you a cup of water to drink because of your name as followers of Christ, truly I say to you, he will not lose his reward. In other words, here's this person out here working miracles in my name, and maybe they're also treating you kindly in my name.

Think about it
