The story behind the idea
One, I would love to tell you about a congregation of God's people I'm hoping to worship with at a town beginning on Sunday in hopes that you can come and visit if you happen to live in the area. Two, I want to share with you a song with powerful lyrics that can shape your heart and prepare you for the weekend. As far as the song goes today, we will be doing two things differently than we have all year long.
What stands out
I am incredibly optimistic to the future of God's people and the work we can do in the world around us when we love others the way God loves others. Again, if you would like to explore that and you're in the San Antonio area, it would be wonderful to praise God together. We have got to turn our attention to the song in Need.
Why it matters
This song utterly humbles me, and that is the place where God can use me the most.
A faithful way forward
This is real to these people and transformational, and I pray it will also be for you. Sing along as we hear these good godly people proclaim that they are in need. In need of grace, in need of love, in need of mercy reigning down from high above, in need of strength, in need of peace, in need of things that only you can give to me.
Put it into practice
His grace is our greatest need and the most wonderful gift we've ever been offered. Let's sit together on Jesus' knee, leaning into his breast and hearing the words that he speaks to us, committed to a life of effort in obeying everything that he commands us to do. Because while we were in need, and because we are still in need, Jesus Christ has sacrificed everything in tremendous humility to save us by offering things that only come from Him, His grace and love and mercy and strength and peace.
