The story behind the idea
It's not, of course, important that you remember them, but maybe you'll hear something of interest to you. Today in the back half of the episode, we will look at these three resetting the heart, returning to your first love, number two, focusing more on God and removing distractions. Next week, after some differing introductory material, we will settle in on number four, urgency in action, no more procrastination.
What stands out
I'm hesitant to list it because I'm on day like a bazillion, and I don't think I'd know how to give it up if I was told to, but it's great when I do it. It's great when I reflect back throughout the day, and it's building towards a life that's filtered through faith. Number one, here, before we even get to this other stuff, make a list of the great things, maybe something related to family or friendship or faith. Secondly, what are some things that aren't great, but they were good?
Why it matters
When in your past, perhaps as recent as you can remember, when was your love for God the strongest? Can you just think back a moment to when that was great? It was great then, and it's great to think back on just like we talked about earlier, and it was building towards even other great things.
A faithful way forward
Lay aside every weight, Hebrews 12, and look unto Jesus. We need to be people who are giving attention to God first and making everything else fight for what's left over.
Put it into practice
Exercise number two, tell one person each day something you appreciate about them. We haven't talked a lot about people today, but so much of what we're most grateful for in the name of God are relationships. A great way to learn to be more grateful is to express it to the people around us and not just to God. Then exercise three, end each night with a prayer exclusively filled with Thanksgiving.
