The story behind the idea
You can start poorly, start in a hole and dig yourself out and still do amazing.
What stands out
I get up and begin with that cup of coffee and I start journaling. The Excel Stillmore journal has been a part of my life for 2,300 mornings in a row, and I plan on sticking with it until I see Jesus. I will not break down the details of that journal except to say that it allows me to write three different types of things. One is I read a New Testament chapter and an Old Testament chapter and I write some things about each.
Why it matters
You're going to ask for the Holy Spirit to help you as Romans 8 indicates that you should, but you need to be talking earnestly and specifically with God. Question two, what patterns, places, or habits make this temptation overwhelming?
A faithful way forward
I can almost guarantee, certainly not fully guarantee, but whatever work you've come up with, whatever God has done in your life that you know He's ready to do now, even more, it almost certainly involves people. Our vertical fellowship with God is most often fortified and demonstrated in the way we love other people.
Put it into practice
I got excited about this when I was preaching it here a few weeks ago. If every family here just did that, just started picking people in our fellowship and around our fellowship and just doing the work God has prepared you to do.
