What to remember
We can do things now and consistently that can give them the most opportunity and the highest probability to be enjoying that life of faith in the future.
One thing I've learned over the years is the best way for the program to grow is for friends to tell people how valuable it's been for them.

The story behind the idea

When I say the word projection, I want you to think like a projector, like a movie machine putting pictures and images up on the wall so that you and I can sit in a chair together and watch them. Imagine you are sitting there watching in 4K on the wall a movie or pictures of your life. It's not the present, it's not the past, they aren't home movies from Disney World in 1994.

What stands out

I want to see a huge smile on your face, and then let's get started. What I've learned from conversations with friends and those that I worship with and my own family is that that is easier for some and harder for others. Even those that it is easy for have difficulty based on duration. For instance, my son Luke, he can't really build a picture of five years from now.

Why it matters

I know where I work and probably will still be working here and married to the love of my life, and my kids will just be five years older. I can set up this great vision of what I want to be different than than is here now with a lot shorter list of unknowns than he would have. For Luke, what we ended up having to do is shortening up the scope a little bit.

A faithful way forward

The inability to even envision better that you don't achieve goals and accomplish incredible things. I mean, I don't want to get preachy here, but if we can't build a picture of better in the future, then where's our faith? If we aren't interested in looking into a future place and time and finding reasons to get out of bed this morning and be disciplined and focused, then there's a decent chance that's going to feed over into our relationship with God. Because you want to talk about five year, ten-year, twenty-year, let's talk about heaven for a minute.

Put it into practice

For Summer and me, it was still challenge accepted. We can do things now and consistently that can give them the most opportunity and the highest probability to be enjoying that life of faith in the future. Is it hard and does it demand sacrifice and difficult conversations?

Think about it
