The story behind the idea
Think things like breathing and eating and working, existing, thinking, resting. This is your physical life gifted to you by God, which you are currently experiencing, which everyone alive is currently experiencing. Someone said, Be us is the life you're living when you're just going through the motions.
What stands out
What are the most important people and things in your life as a Christian? As a Christian is very important because it tethers our life to the provider that is God. It's saying, God gave me an existence and God gave me a value.
Why it matters
Largely because not everybody gets the same quality of life when it comes to be us. Not everybody gets the peace and the coffee in the morning and the comfortable place to live and the good job.
A faithful way forward
Just please remember that when you're assessing what and who are most important. How am I devoting time to the greater life I'm here to live and what changes do I need to make? Jesus, his name, his presence, his will has got to be in that.
Put it into practice
Be willing to pause your plans if it means helping someone else. Be willing to stop right in the middle of a conversation if you realize it's taking people away from more important directions. If you've started the day, maybe picking out one or two important things you want to do or a way you want to think about your life, and throughout the day you've tried to be less distracted, you're still going to have to battle yourself.
