The story behind the idea
It's not new to us, even, I think, this sort of controversy. You find it in the scriptures in places like Galatians chapter 3, where he's talking about how people were adhering to the law.
What stands out
It's if the truth is God building this pathway of building a life of obedience by faith in his grace, there are ditches, as I said, on both sides. The one that I think we talk about the most often that the scripture does talk about the Romans 5, Romans 6 thing.
Why it matters
If you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham's offspring, heirs according to the promise. Heirs are people who receive the inheritance, not according to their works, but according to the promise of God. Which is why this concept of grace and understanding it in terms of inheritance, I think, solves so many problems.
A faithful way forward
It's God's unending loving kindness to work with you, to help you through your struggles. God wants to, if you're drifting, God wants to draw you close and use his love and mercy to help humble you and motivate you to better behavior. They took a let's kill him, let's get him out of the system, let's reject him.
Put it into practice
It is by God's grace that we have hope in this life through Christ. There's just the real sense in which it means everything, which is why the subject is so valuable and important, and why we need to be studying it throughout our lives. I just want to read Colossians chapter 1, in verse 13, it says, For he delivered us from the domain of darkness, that's where we were in sin, and transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved Son, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.
