The beauty of the life that we live, from the natural ability of the body in many cases to heal and recover, to the way that time even affects broken relationships, the human experience includes being broken, but it is not the whole of it.
Sorrow and pain will always be a part of your life, Christian or not, please don't think that you're a child of God, therefore you should never experience these same things anymore.
And the better you are able to accept and understand the human experience, the better off you will be as you navigate it in your attempts to grow and get better and really thrive in the Lord.

Notice what happens between people

It can be a bit sobering and personal, but I think it's something that we need to talk about. And the better you are able to accept and understand the human experience, the better off you will be as you navigate it in your attempts to grow and get better and really thrive in the Lord.

So let me start by giving you the origin story of today's episode title.

Listen beneath the surface

It could be our bodies, it could be our minds, our souls, our relationships, it could be tangible things like economic ruin, but we break. And if you think that you can live a life without becoming broken or hurt or troubled, then you do not understand the human experience.

The beauty of the life that we live, from the natural ability of the body in many cases to heal and recover, to the way that time even affects broken relationships, the human experience includes being broken, but it is not the whole of it.

Choose a better response

But would you consider that the people who you know that you will need in the dark days ought to be getting your love and attention in the bright ones? In other words, keep relationships healthy that you know you will need in order to be repaired.

How sad is it in families or among supposedly good friends when there is lots of neglect and lots of selfishness while everyone is moving along fine, and then when I'm crushed, I expect them to come and help me piece my life back together.

Practice it in real life

And let me just say as I close, maybe you don't have family to fix you, to help you, to guide you. You always have Jesus, but don't forget this, you always have his people, his church, your brothers and your sisters in Christ.

I assure you everything you invest in those relationships will pay tremendous dividends as you faithfully and courageously live your way through the human experience.
