The story behind the idea
They are able, check this out, to learn about him through your marriage. If your marriage is a sampling, a reflection of Christ in the church, then they are learning about Christ's sacrificial covenantal love by the way a husband loves and serves his wife. They are learning about a loving, supportive, submissive relationship that is beautiful in terms of what it means to be a member of the body of Christ by the way wives and mothers embrace their role and serve under even woefully imperfect husbands.
What stands out
God's people need to be more positive about what's working in their marriage. I started marriage counseling, I don't know how many years ago.
Why it matters
You need to feel an appreciation for qualities that Jesus keeps present between the two of you, even though you know you don't deserve it, maybe not ever. By his unrelenting love and grace, you are able to benefit from it.
A faithful way forward
You think about the patience and the way that he walked among those who didn't understand things, those who needed time to develop, he was kind and gentle and caring. You might remember him flipping some tables, but that was against those who chose to become his enemy, not those who were trying to love him better like you and me. Number five, and then we'll go back through these in a moment, he was humble in spirit.
Put it into practice
I would love for you to have this handy where each morning you can just pick one. Just put your finger on one of these and say, In my marriage, in my home, just like Christ, I will live out this quality.
