The story behind the idea
If you kill me, my home is heaven, for I choose the Jesus way. I follow Jesus, He wore my sin, I'll gladly wear His name, He is the treasure, He is the answer, oh I choose the Jesus way, and I choose surrender, I choose to love. I choose forgiveness, I choose grace, I choose to worship no matter what I face.
What stands out
It's not enough even to look to Jesus and go, there he is, a beautiful display of the character of God. You must also humbly place yourself within his story, not yet as an apprentice who disciples after him, but first as one who is the receiver or recipient of all of the wonderful mercies he has displayed.
Why it matters
I hope there's something in you right now that just wants to praise God for Jesus and his love and how much of an impact it has on every day of your life. You show me someone like that, someone who knows that and feels it and is living off of it. I can show that person some lyrics that say, let's turn this towards the world.
A faithful way forward
If someone strikes me, if they chain me, even if they kill me, I will embrace them if I can. I will praise God for the opportunity to show my faith, and if I die for this, in the name of all that is right, I will be in heaven. I cannot control what other people choose, and neither can you.
Put it into practice
If they see Jesus and they can learn about his love, and I am the vessel God is using in this place and in this time to show them. In other words, every part of our life in faith is evangelism. You might be like, yeah, someone who's very kind and open and searching and seeking, and I get to sit down and share Jesus with them, or they get to see me go to church and then they go to church.
