Begin with the truth

These episodes aren't just about that, so I will deliver a spiritual idea that you can use going into the weekend, which today is related to a Christian music song written by Matthew West called Truth Be Told. If you're someone who listens to Christian music on the radio, you probably recognize this song, and I'm hopeful that a study of the lyrics will add some extra meaning for you.

If you do not listen to Christian music, this may even be better for you, because you will get introduced to some lyrics that I think have the potential to change the way you pray and the way you interact with others.

What this reveals about God

One of my best friends in the world, David Osteen, preaches there and is also a shepherd at that church. And this event has been set up with particular emphasis on the youth, but we are going out of our way to tell families that everyone is invited and the content and study is being tailored to fit into the lives of each and every person.

And if you live nowhere near that area, I would really appreciate your prayers that that effort will carry out the will and the work of God.

Let faith take root

The first truth that needs to be told is done in prayer, where I tell God, God, this is what hurts, this is what I've been doing, this is where my heart is, this is what is broken. I've always found prayer such a fascinating thing because God already knows all of that, but he also knows that it is important for you to hear yourself say it to him, to not just expect him to know what's in the bucket, but to actually kneel before him and pour out your bucket in humility before his throne.

If you want to start being more honest and open about the truth, you must begin with the Lord.

Respond in daily life

Oh God, if that's really true, then let the truth be told. It starts with me telling the truth to God, but it also involves me believing the truth about God.

The second truth told in this song is that God loves me, God will forgive me, God has forgiven me, I have poured out my bucket, and he has refilled it with clean, cool, refreshing, living water.

Think about it

Take the idea with you.
