The story behind the idea
We certainly want to offer prayers of thanksgiving and we want to make requests of God, which again is asking him to do things or not to do things.
What stands out
If you're like me, it'll change the way you open up your conversation with God, and I believe for the better. Back to Genesis and to the main thrust of the lesson today.
Why it matters
If you think you can do what you want with your physical body, then you don't know what kind of a being you are. You don't know that God created your body, and that God presently allows it to keep breathing, and that Jesus gave his life to purchase you, all of you, to renew who you are.
A faithful way forward
I carry the Holy Spirit in my vessel for your good will and work. I am an eternal spirit built out of your love so that we can be in a relationship forever.
Put it into practice
If they're struggling to do what's right, I would want them to see that look, there are some things that are realities of your soul, your creation, and where you're going that will be so no matter what you do. You can choose to be an atheist, you can choose to be faithful, you will still answer to God for your body, you are still an eternal soul that will go somewhere. Your doing doesn't dictate your being, the being is set. It is your understanding of it that will shape your choices.
