Identify what matters
I'm hoping that multiple times this week, you will remember the common phrase believe to achieve, and then you will start asking yourself these questions. The questions today will revolve around the things that you believe, the things that you believe in, the things that matter most to you, the passions sincerely your own that exist in your heart.
Because once we can identify those things, not what everybody else believes, not what you're being told to believe by your parents or by the preacher or by the government or by the culture, when you truly identify what's burning within you and you put that into action, that kind of belief can lead to great achievements.
See the obstacles
My son Nick was in the back seat asleep, and so I was able to just work through some of this. What do I believe about his existence, about his presence, about his mercy, his grace, his love, and his son's kingdom.
Now look, all of my answers to those questions may not match yours, but I'll tell you this, they are mine, and I believe in them, and that matters.
Move from intention to action
I'll tell you now when Ben Bergeron in the episode suggested this, and this was his second question as well, I didn't think it would be as impactful as the first, but it's turned out to be an important filter, an important process to validate how I feel by having to take the time to justify what I believe in, not justify it to you, nor you to me, not justify it to anyone else or anything else, but to myself. I believe he's right here with me, and I believe he's got more grace showering down upon me than I ever previously imagined.
What is it about the way God made me that gives me evidence to support what I believe?
Keep building
So in that way, when I'm asking you to ask yourself, would others believe it, I'm saying, if all of this came to the light of day, could you convince another? When I ask myself, would others believe it, what I really mean is, internally I've decided what is a true passion in my heart.
The question to me is when it comes to my life, the choices that I'm making, the words that come out of my mouth, the direction that I'm heading, if I told someone what I believed, would my life make it believable?
