We can now go by faith, fully assured of victory through God because Jesus defeated Satan.
He voiced that victory to the people and to the enemy, and that's precisely what Jesus did when he came to this earth and proclaimed what God would do.

The story behind the idea

Let's start with a brief retelling of the story of David and Goliath. It begins before that fateful day when God had chosen this eighth son of Jesse, this shepherd boy of no repute, to become the king, the ruler of the entire nation of God's people. Which leads to a question: how is that going to happen?

What stands out

He said, look, if David fights Goliath on his terms, he loses. God was definitely with him and active in this, but God did not need to supernaturally make it happen. He naturally used the wisdom of David, who altered his approach and took the tactical advantage into the field. It's almost as if David became the favorite by changing the rules and doing it differently than what was expected.

Why it matters

God can use our skills and our abilities to accomplish amazing things. One of them, and I found this really cool, mentioned how David's previous victories gave him the faith to fight this battle. You know, to people who'd never wrestled a lion, Goliath looked pretty terrible. To people who've been through that, Goliath was nothing.

A faithful way forward

He voiced that victory to the people and to the enemy, and that's precisely what Jesus did when he came to this earth and proclaimed what God would do. David had tremendous courage, and the best kind of courage that went beyond himself, he was taking on the enemy not just for his own good, though he would be exalted as a result of it.

Put it into practice

We can now go by faith, fully assured of victory through God because Jesus defeated Satan. We have the greatest king and warrior of all time, and we have a pattern for behavior that he has proven that the devil cannot comprehend or stop.
