The story behind the idea
Maybe even consequences that bore out of that that cannot be retraced. Fear often looks backwards to things we cannot change, particularly for those of us who prioritize obedience to the Lord. Our lack of obedience in the past, maybe it was last night, a week ago, or a year ago, can continue to plague us and maybe even keep us from seeing the merciful forgiveness of the Lord. The second thing would be the present all around you right now.
What stands out
You meant evil against me, but God meant it for good, in order to bring about this present result to preserve many people alive. Therefore, he says it a second time, do not be afraid.
Why it matters
Maybe that's exactly the thing we need to be saying about fear in present circumstances. Jesus didn't say you wouldn't learn or falter or grow or have to change.
A faithful way forward
Of course, this story also reveals that fear won't do you any good. Just giving in to terror or unbelief or doubting God, all you do then is sink, and the only way out of it is to turn to Jesus again. When you think about the past and why you're not afraid of your own mistakes and sin, it's because you turned E.
Put it into practice
I won't go through this again with you, but top two commands of Jesus right there alongside love God and love your neighbor is do not fear and believe.
