The story behind the idea
I'm about halfway through it and I'm really enjoying it as well. It carries forward the concept that love does, but it challenges us to really expand the scope of what is possible on that by teaching us that we need to love everybody always. Chapter seven in that second book is called A Day at the Museum.
What stands out
He said, Most of us have been posers at one time or another, if we're honest. People who are becoming love stop faking it about who they are and where they are in their lives and in their faith. He talks about pretending to be someone that you aren't, which isn't usually done for malicious reasons, at least not you and me. Instead, it's done for other reasons, usually, I think, having to do with acceptance.
Why it matters
The problem though is there was just this gap between who they really were and what they said they were, and God considered that deception. I'm personally becoming very sensitive about that, and that's kind of what I'm asking you to think through today.
A faithful way forward
Maybe I need to change the way I think and feel and believe to match the deeds I'm already doing. Just know that fear of every type can cause you to just strike that pose so everybody accepts what you're doing, or in our second illustration, to watch the movie with the audio and video just a little off, but it's better than nothing, right?
Put it into practice
There were some nagging issues from those previous conversations. It was mentioned how if I go through with this, it will bring trouble on the people that I love and problems will follow me and them throughout the rest of the year. At that point, it felt like needing to make the sacrifice of what I thought I should do in order to protect the people I care about.
